The Royal Wedding

First of all, I have to tell you that I really did not want to write about the wedding because everyone is talking about it already, but I just can't help myself. At first, I wanted to watch the wedding just to see the wedding dress, but the whole frenzy slowly sucked me in. I even decided to skip yesterday's skiing to watch the wedding. I started watching BBC at 9am and literally did not move away from the TV until everything was over. My father is still teasing me about it. Anyway, I just have to say that the wedding was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. It really was a true fairytale wedding. And I really like Catherine and William as a couple. They look so simple, genuine and really happy together.

Moving on to the fashion. I fell in love with Kate's wedding dress. It was quite simple and very elegant. I really can't imagine her wearing any other dress; she looked absolutely perfect. And her second dress was pretty too. Ok, enough about Kate's dresses. I also liked the outfits of some other people attending the wedding. I think that Kate's mother looked absolutely gorgeous and I also liked Beatrice's dress - her hat was a bit too much, though. Another outfit that caught my attention was Victoria Beckham's. She looked so classy, but I kind of expected that. She always looks great.

The last thing I want to share is...the cake! Isn't it gorgeous?

Have any of you watched the wedding? What do you think about it? Are you annoyed by all the hype or did you also got sucked into the wedding frenzy? :)

Val Thorens: Day 6 & 7

Just a quick update on my vacation. Yesterday morning I went skiing, but only for about an hour or so, because it started snowing and getting really foggy. Apart from that, my legs we killing me, so I decided to go inside, wash my hair, and relax a little. In the evening, we went for a savoy dinner, where we were served traditional Savoy Alps' dishes like raclette and tartiflette. So yummy!

Can you guess what I'm doing today? I'm skipping skiing to watch the royal wedding. My father has declared that I'm officially crazy, haha. I can't wait to see what Kate's gonna wear!

Val Thorens: Day 4 & 5

I have two more days of my holiday to share with you! I hope you aren't bored with my recent posts. I promise, this one is going to be shorter than the previous one. :)

So, yesterday, I decided not to go skiing because I was really tired. The weather was gorgeous though, so my mother and I decided to go for a walk, and a cup of hot chotolate and waffles. Oh, how I love waffles; they're so yummy! But of course, the day wouldn't be complete without some shopping. I got quite a lot of stuff from Roxy, and then spent almost the whole afternoon looking for the right size of the helmet I spotted in one of the shops. I literally went to every single sports shop here in Val Thorens. I had no luck with finding it in the right size, but I really wanted it, so I decided to get it in one size bigger. Luckily, it fits perfectly. I've already tried it out today.

Speaking about today, it was actually a quite intersting day if I may say so. My father and my sister pretty much forced me to go to the highest peak of Val Thorens (3200 m) and ski all the way down to the valley. I was quite scared to go there, because this skiing track is famous for being very long and very hard, but I'm happy to say that I came down in one piece, haha. Going down was actually the easiest part. The worst part was climbing on top of the vantage point. The way up there is surrounded by precipices and quite unprotected. Now, imagine myself climbing on the top of it in ski boots. A very scary picture, believe me. I admit, I had a little panic attack - this has ever happened to me before.

I have only two more days left here in Val Thorens, and then I have to head back home and start going to school again. What a bummer! If only I didn't have so many exams. I'm already very anxious about that. Stupid exams aside, I still have many photos from Val Thorens to show to you...

I know, I look terrible with a helmet on + this photo was taken right after my panic attack, haha.

Val Thorens: Day 1, 2 & 3

As you probably already know, I'm in Val Thorens, France right now! Woohoo! :)

So, let's start at the beginning. We arrived here on Saturday after a 12 hour long car journey. We first went to the reception desk to pick up our apartment keys, at which point I had a little heart attack. You see, I made an online reservation a few months ago and I chose an apartment that is located in the same building as the reception, because this is where the nicest apartments are situated. But after the lady behind the counter gave us the keys, she directed us to an apartment which was located in another building, and that was the point when I started to panick a bit. My mother gave me this angry look and I just thought ''I'm screwed''. I was the one doing all the reservations, and if something went wrong, I would be the one to blame.

But thankfully, it all turned out good great. When we opened the apartment door, we were all shocked. The apartment is absolutely gorgeous! I've never stayed in such an amazing apartment before. It has modern interior, two storeys, four bathrooms, a jacuzzi, three flat screen TVs... It's fabulous. When you come in, there is one really big room with a fully equiped kitchen, a dining room, a living room and an access to a large balcony. On this floor, there is also a bathroom, and next to it, there is a staircase that goes downstairs, where you can find one separate bathroom and two bedrooms, which also have their own bathrooms. The only downside to this apartment is that there are no doors in the bathrooms which are connected to the bedrooms - my sister and I are sharing one bedroom, so one of us has to go out of the room when another one wants to take shower. :D

Until now, we have had really nice weather - very sunny and warm. This is why I love to go skiing in Spring. Even though there have always been more snow that this year, all the skiing tracks are working 100%. What else can I say? I don't know, I haven't been doing anything special. I wake up, eat breakfast, go skiing, do a little bit of relaxing at one of the chalets, go back to the apartment to have lunch, read blogs, watch youtube videos, go shopping, have dinner, and watch movies. That's pretty much it.

This post is getting way too long, so I'm going to stop with my blabbering now and show you some photos that I took in the last few days. Have fun! I sure will. :)
Welcome package - such a cool gesture! :)

Vacation

I've just overpacked my bags for my spring break, yay! I'm leaving in four hours (at 4am), and I couldn't be more excited. I really need a break from school. It's been pretty hectic for the past few months even though the worst part is yet to come. But despite the fact I'll have to study quite a bit during my break, I'm really looking forward to this vacation. If the internet will be avaliable at the place I'm staying at, you can definitely expect some travel posts.

Now, can you guess my destination?

Hint 3:

Some of you have probably already figured out that I'm going to France, right? To be more exact, I'm going to Val Thorens, which is the biggest and the highest European ski resort. Our family goes there every April/May, and yes, the snow is still there... :)

Nail of the Day: Perfectly Flesh

If you've been the reader of my blog for some time, you probably already know that I have a few obsessions - one of them being ''collecting'' nail polishes. I could easily say that I've recently been buying at least one a week. I know, it's ridiculous, but I really can't help myself. All those colours! Ahhh...

Anyway, this little obsession of mine leads to having tons of nail polishes, which I store in a little wicker basket that has actually just become too small. Usually, when I buy a new nail polish, I wear it all the time until I get a new one, and it often happens that my old nail polishes kind of get lost in the basket. So, last weekend, while putting away some new things into my ''beauty closet'', I've rediscovered one of my old nail polishes. Honestly, I didn't even know I have it and it's so pretty that I had to put it on right away!

The name of the nail polish is ''Perfectly Flesh'' and it is from Avon. I would describe this colour as sandy nude I guess, but you can see it in the photos for youself. I love it because it's very neutral and unnoticable, so it practically goes with every outfit. I am also quite surprised that I doesn't chip very easily. On my nails, it has stayed for 5-6 days before starting to chip. It's also very opaque, which I love. I absolutely hate sheer nail polishes by the way. So, yeah, I think this is all I have to say about this particular nail polish. What about you, do you like it?

P.S. The first photo is taken without a flash, and the second with.
