October Favorite Beauty Products

SLEEK I-DIVINE STORM PALETTE

I'd been wanting this palette for quite some time after seeing all the amazing reviews and I'm really glad I decided to buy it. I can actually say that it is my all time favorite beauty product. The palette comes with 12 eye shadows, which are perfect for day and night looks. They are very pigmented, great for blending and have a strong staying power. I have to say that the two brown matte colors could be a little bit more pigmented, but I can overlook this flaw since all the other eye shadows are so amazing. The packaging is also really cool. It's compact, the size is great for travelling, and it also comes with an aplicator and a great big mirror. All in all, I would strogly recommend this palette to everyone. It's such a bargain!

Price: 8,5€ for 12x1.1g    (I got it for 11€ in my country)

ONE BY ONE VOLUM' EXPRESS MASCARA BY MAYBELLINE
I once borrowed this mascara from my sister and I instantly fell in love with it. I bought myself a new one about a month ago and it soon became my favorite mascara. It seperates your lashes, lengthens them, holds a curl and even adds some volume. However, a week ago, after a month of using it, the mascara started to become really dry, flaky and a little bit difficult to work with (I once came home looking like a panda). I really don't know what to think of it anymore. It was perfect until a week ago and now it's a complete mess. Is it possible that they just sold me an old one at the shop? Did anyone else experience similar problems?

Price: I paid about 10€ for 10,4 ml

AVON NATURALS HONEY LIP BALM

You probably all know about the Burt's Bees beeswax lip balm, right? I've heard only great things about it, but I can't get it in my country, so I jumped at the opportunity and bought an Avon one when I saw it in a recent catalogue. Like a Burt's Bees one, it also contains beeswax and I love it! It smells great, doesn't have a taste, contains vitamin E, is very moisturizing and leaves a great, waxy feeling on your lips. I always have problems with dry lips during colder months, but they haven't been dry since I started using this product. As I have said, I use it on my lips, but you can also use it for your cuticles and your dry skin on your elbows. I really have nothing bad to say about this product. The only thing I would maybe change is the packaging.  You have to use your fingers to get out the product, so it can get a bit messy.

Price: 1,70€ for 15 ml

Save or Splurge

I've been obsessing over Burberry Prorsum Sherling Boots since f/w 2010 fashion show, but the price is just waaay out of my price range. However, I did find a pretty good dupe today- the Deppert Boots by Call it SPRING. They come in black and brown, and you can get them here for only 63 dollars. Do you like them?

I'm planning to do more of these 'Save or Splurge' posts in the future, so please tell me if you would be interested in seeing them or not. :)

Halloween Nails 2

You have probably all seen my recent 'Bloody Nails' post, but as much that look would be perfect to wear if you're planning to dress up for Halloween, it might be a little bit too much for school/work. Here is my pretty but still special Halloween alternative - black crackle nail polish on top of an orange one. What do you think about it?

Bloody Nails

Halloween is coming up really soon, so I think it's the approprate time to show you one of my halloween nails suggestions. This one is super easy to do, but you can definitely expect some messiness. :P

To get the look, you only need a red nail polish, a white nail polish, a straw and a piece of paper to keep the messiness off of your table.

First, paint your nails with a white nail polish and let them dry.

Then, put some red nail polish on the inside of the tip of the straw, place your hand on the piece of paper, direct the tip of the straw towards your nail and blow through the straw. Repeat that for each nail. That's it, easy, huh? If you're going to a halloween party right after, you can keep it messy as it is (it will look even more realistic), but if you want it to look more ''pretty'', make sure you clean up the extra nail polish around your nails. :)

1 Blouse, 4 Ways to Wear It

I decided to start yet another blog series, but I can't come up with a title, so I would really appreciate your help. The idea is to choose an item of clothing and then style it for different occasions or for different types of looks. Today I chose a blouse. The one that I'm showing you is from Alexander Wang (you can get it here), but you can of course use just about any blouse you have at home.
Untitled #99

SCHOOL
First, I'm going to show you two outfits which are in my opinion great to wear to school. The first one is more appropriate for high school and the second one for college. The idea with the high school outfit is to wear your blouse open so you can show off your pretty tank top! :)

WORK

Nail of the Day: My Private Jet by OPI

OPI's My Private Jet has been my go-to nail polish for the past two weeks. It's perfect for the fall/winter season and I can totally see why this is Kim Kardashian's favorite nail polish. In the bottle it has a bit of a brownish/bronze undertone, but when you put it on your nails, it is just a warm black color with hundreds of little silver glitters. It looks gorgeous! The application is also amazing. It's quite thick and opaque so you only need one coat and you're done. Even though it comes on your nails quite thick (usually a recipe for disastrous smudging), it dries surprisingly quickly and consequently does not smudge. This would definitely be my number one nail polish if I didn't have one huge problem. It chips so bad! It stays on for 2 days tops and then I have to reapply it. This is really such a shame considering the price - it costs 13 € in my country. Not cheap at all!

Space-Saving Tips for Dorm Rooms

Like most university students, I have to live in a dorm room during the week. I'm lucky enough to have my own room and only have to share the kitchen and the bathroom with 5 other students, but the room is still very tiny compared to my bedroom back home. I had a bit of a trouble with organizing everything at the beginning of the move, but after a year, I've learned quite a lot of space-savings tricks that might also be helpful to some of you.

UNDER THE BED STORAGE
This can save you a lot of space! I recommend you to buy under the bed drawers or just some plastic boxes and put in all your extra sheets, towels, pillows, blankets and other random stuff you don't need  on a daily basis. Under the bed is also a great storage place for your suitcase, which you can empty and then use it for your dirty laudry.

DOORS
Doors might not be the first thing that comes up your mind when you think about storage, but if you go get some hooks and door organizers, they can save you a whole lot of closet space.

SHELVES ABOVE THE BED
I have similar shelves above my dorm bed to store my books, school notes, folders, an extra pack of paper for my printer and some candles. :)

CLOSET ORGANIZERS
The left organizer is useful especially for storing things such as shoes and belts, and the right one is great if you have a tall closet but only one hanger thingy. By putting in the double hang closet organizer, you can double the closet space!

STORAGE OTTOMANS
Aren't these great? Not only you can use them for storage but it is also great to have them if your friends come over.

DESK PLACE
To save some desk space, I bought a few folder holders, a pen holder and some decorative storage boxes, which I stacked on top of one another. They don't only hold my dictionaries, magazines, accessories and make-up, but they also look really cute! You can also storage things under your desk. I recommend you to buy a drawer unit or stacking drawers, just make sure they will fit under your desk.

A-Z Tag

I've been seeing a lot of A to Z posts recently, so I decided to do it too! I also decided to transform it into a tag so be sure to check out if you've been tagged at the end of this post. :)

A. Age: 19

B. Bed size: 140x200

C. Chore that you hate: I absolutely hate cleaning the bathroom after other people have been using it.

D. Dogs: I have one, his name is Benji! He's the cutest. Wanna see the furry friend tag? :)

E. Essential start to your day: Hmm, nothing special really...

F. Favorite color: Right now, pastel turquoise.

G. Gold or silver: Silver.

H. Height: 163 cm, I know, I'm short! I still hope I'll magically grow one day...

I. Instruments that you play: I used to play piano.

J. Job title: I'm still a student.

K. Kids: Definitely not on my mind right now.

L. Live: Still in Slovenia, a very small country most people haven't even heard of. I wanna move so bad...

M. Mothers name: Renata.

N. Nickname: Don't have one.

O. Overnight hospital stays: Zero! :)

P. Pet peeves: Flaky people! And I also don't like it when people walk really slow in front of me or have bad eating manners.

Q: Quote from a movie: There are so many good quotes, but I don't remember anything from the top of my head right now.

R: Right or left handed: Right.

U. Underwear: Anything from Skiny Trend collections.

V. Vegetable you hate: I really like vegetables, but I can not stand the rocket and the artichokes.

W. What makes you run late: I usually come early, but I do have to admit that I've run late a couple of times because I messed up my nails and had to repaint them, lol.

X. X-Rays you had: My head (because of the sinus infection), my teeth and and my knee (dance injury).

Y. Yummy food that you make: I don't cook a lot, but I made some veggie melts a couple of months ago and I loved it. I really need to make them again soon. You can check the recipe here on my blog.

Z. Zoo animals: I love animals but I have mixed feelings about the ZOOs itselves. Some of them are too small and not appropriate for all the animals that are kept in there.

Below, I've tagged some people but you can still do this tag whether I've tagged you or not. If you do it, make sure you leave the link to the post in the comments below! :)

Rest in Peace, Steve Jobs

Sometimes, there come the days that make you think about life. The days when you wonder about what do you want to achieve before you die; the days when you realize that failing a test is not the worst thing that can happen to you; the days that remind you to cherish every moment of your life because you never know when it will end; and the days that make you think about all those great people who have left this world too soon.

Today is one of those days.

About 20 hours ago, I was woken up by a very sad message. My father informed me about the death of Steve Jobs. I obviously didn't know him personally, but he still made a great impact on my life. He was an amazing inventor, an artist, a visionary, a man who changed the world.

I remember getting my first Apple product, an iPod, when I was 13 years old. I was one of the first people in my country to have it and I couldn't be ''prouder'' and happier. Even though I'm a true girly girl, I can be quite boyish when it comes to electronics. I'm definitely a gadget person. I can't live without my iPod nano, my laptop, my Nook, my mobile phone, my camera and my iPad 2, which I got only a week ago and am already in love with. Apple is my favorite company when it comes to electronics, so it is only a matter of time before I get myself an iPhone and a MacBook Pro. I'm 100% satisfied with my current mobile phone and laptop, but when they die, the apples will be the ones to succeed them.

To Steve Jobs: Thank you for you brilliance and the inspiration. You will be missed.

October Wishlist

CHINA GLAZE'S SKYSCRAPER NAIL POLISH
Isn't this the most gorgeous glittery nail polish? I love how opaque it is! This one is actually from the new Metro Collection but it is sadly not yet avaliable on the site where I buy China Glaze's nail polishes (as far as I know, they don't sell China Glaze in stores in my country). I really hope it will be avaliable as soon as possible, I'm checking the site every single day. Obsessed much?
UPDATE: It is now avaliable and I already have it by my side. :)

NYX MILK JUMBO EYESHADOW PENCIL
I've been wanting this one for months and I've now finally found out that I can get it online from some website. You guessed it, they don't sell NYX in stores here...the story of my life...a really sad one, lol.

SAM EDELMAN ROZA PUMPS  avaliable here
Do I even need to say anything? <3

SLEEK STORM PALETTE
As some of you already know, I bough myself an Urban Decay Naked Palette a few months ago. But as much as I adore that palette, I'm kind of saving it for special occasions (after all, I did spend a fortune on it) and if I'm honest, I'm also afraid to travel with it because I would die if it broke. That's why I started looking for a similar, less expensive one and I think that this Sleek palette would be perfect for me.

ESSENCE'S BLUE ADDICTED NAIL POLISH
When I found out about this nail polish, I was psyched! It's not that I'm such a big fan of Essence nail polishes, but this one is a total dupe for Deborah Lipmann's Across the Universe, my most wanted nail polish ever (again, not avaliable in my country). I just hope it won't sell out before I get a hold of it. They still don't have the new Essence collection in my town, but I'm going to the capital next week and I really hope they'll still have  it.
UPDATE: I got it, but I'm not sure if it will be as good as I though it would be.
