Grammy Awards 2012

I'm doing a little bit different post from my usual red carpet favorites about Grammys today. Why? Because I actually watched the whole show live this year. I started to watch the red carpet at midnight on E!, and then continued watching the actual show at 2 am on Pro7 (I'm so glad they weren't doing a voiceover in German).

Let's first talk about the red carpet fashion. There were some really ridiculous outfits, but all in all, I was quite pleased with the choices. The following nine oufits are my personal favorites.

I absolutely love how Adele looked! The gorgeous dress from Armani suits her so well! And don't even get me started about her make-up and hair! I think I've just developed a girl crush.

Well hello, Paris Hilton! She really outdid herself this time. I'm glad she started to realize that the hoochie dresses don't belong to the red carpet. I also have to give a big thumbs-up to Taylor Swift, who tried something different this time too. The dress doesn't look like something she would usually wear, but I'm glad she went for it, because this is definitely one of her best red carpet looks.

Now that I've shown you my favorites, I also have to show you the worst. But just to set the record straight, I am in no way trying to offend anyone. I don't like to talk bad about other people (this is why I usually show you only my favorite outfits and not those that I don't like), because I know what it feels like to be criticized and made fun of, but I think that showing you the outfits I don't like is not such a big crime. After all, this is just my personal opinion, and also, picking out a bad outfit has nothing to do with them being ''bad'' persons. Just sayin'...

Anyway, here are the ''What were you thinking?!'' outfits. I really can't get my head around these choices...

Lastly, I decided to show you the outfits that I think had the potential of being great, but turned out not so great.

First off, Katy Perry. I LOVE this dress - It's Elie Saab, how couldn't it be great? - but her blue hair completely destroys the whole look. Secondly, Rihanna. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw her in this dress, but the slit (which is not really noticable in this photo) was just too much. If there was no slit, this outfit would definitely be in my top 10. And what bothers me about the third dress is a missing sleeve and a slit, again - as you can see, I'm not a big fan of slits. And now, Fergie. I've already noticed that people either lov or hate this dress. I'm somewhere in between. I love the dress, but I hate the black underwear. In my opinion, this dress would look great if there was black fabric underneath the whole of it and therefore wouldn't be see through. What do you think?

That was all I had to say about fashion, and now I have a few things to say about the event itself. First of all, I'm so excited that Adele won six Grammys! She's my favorite singer, and I literally jumped around the room and screamed quietly (my family were sleeping) every time she won a nomination. I'm so happy for her! And her performance was of course amazing!

Below are the rest of my favorite performances. You definitely won't find Chris Brown's and Nicki Minaj's ones among them, though. Nicki Minaj's performance was totally bizzare (I think I'll have nightmares because of it tonight) and Chris Brown is just Chris Brown...

o Jennifer Hudson's Whitney Houston Tribute

o Kelly Clarkson & Jason Aldean

o Rihanna & Coldplay

o Taylor Swift

o Katy Perry

o Bruno Mars

So, how did you like this post? :)

  22. I have to totally agree with you.
Maybe some critical opinions would make these "stars" realize that event like these require more elegant outfit.
