Save or Splurge: Rain Boots

It's been raining a lot in my country for the past few weeks (some areas had terrible floods), which made me think of my last year's puddle incident and rain boots. You see, I managed to step in a 20 cm high puddle on my way to uni and of course my shoes instantly turned into swimming pools for my feet. Terrible experience! That was the moment when I realized that all those ugly rain boots people wore in public were maybe not such a bad idea. I swore to myself that I would get a pair myself, but to be honest, I still haven't... :D

Here is my problem. I still think that rain boots are ugly and would make me look like a farmer, which is not really the look I'm going for. Having said that, I did find one pair that looks kind of chic - Hunter's Regent Savoy boots in black. But as you know, Hunter boots are not the cheapest, and as I would only wear them in extreme circumstances, I don't think it's worth spending so much money one them. Brantano's  Quilt Buckle Welly Wellington boots, on the other hand, also look quite chic and are a lot cheaper! So, what do you think? Would you splurge or go for the cheaper option?

  2. Save Vs Splurge are my favourite posts!

I'd say save, as the other boots might go in the sale soon anyway!!

Zdaj imam ene poceni (mat črne) in so naravnost odlični.

Nauk te dolge zgodbe je "save". :D
Ampak zdaj jih res kupi. Spremenili ti bodo življenje. Ali vsaj razpoloženje, ko moraš ven v dež.

  7. They look exactly the same, what a bargain. I am totally rubbish at wearing wellies and then my grandma (she's a cool grandma) came home with a similar pair to these and it has totally turned me around. Hopefully they couldnt sell them as wellies if they werent water proof. Lizz xx

  8. Even if the splurge ones look a little more chic-er, I'd still go for cheaper ones, because one c'mon they are 'rain' boots and two they look almost the same.

  9. The splurge ones are nice but if you don't wear them much get the cheaper ones.

  10. I love Hunter rain boots, those ones and regular simple ones, but they're pretty pricey...

  12. haha, imam čisto enake probleme :D vem, da nujno rabim en par takih nepremočljivih škornjev,pa se vseeno izogibam nakupu, ker mi nikakor niso lepi :D
    zelo lep blog :)!

  13. Ooh, I'm a huge fan of Hunter boots, but if you're not going to wear them very often then it's probably not worth splurging, and the cheaper pair are a great find - might be worth getting those, instead! xx

  16. malo poglej v transportu...tam imajo hunter škornje, in če se ne motim so nekateri bili celo znižani. drugače pa ja..jaz sem si jih letos prvič kupila in ti resnično izboljšajo razpoloženje v deževnem vremenu:)

  17. The two are very similar! I think the more expensive pair looks a tad more streamlined and elegant, but it is so much pricier as well!

  18. These look so equestrian. Super cute. I spent $20 on a pair at target that are typical rain boots with citrus slices all over them and they were amazing during hurricane season..not so much now that I'm living in LA!

  19. I love both of them! So gorgeous! I wish I could splurge because I know from experience that cheap rain boots usually aren't that comfortable to walk in, but I would probably save haha :D
