London Suggestions + Meetup?

If you follow me on twitter, you probably already know that I'm going to London in a little bit over a week. I'm super excited and I can't wait to get on an airplane that will take me to one of my favorite places on Earth. I've been there three times before, and I never get tired of it. But as I've already done and seen most of the touristy things, I've decided to ask you for some suggestions. Since a lot of you who are reading my blog are from the UK or even London, I would love for you to recommend me some not so known or not so touristy places, restaurants, shops and things like that to visit. :)
I've actually never been to London during the Christmas time, so I can't wait to see a different, wintery side of London. I'm especially excited about spending the new year's eve there! I've always wanted to see London's fabulous fireworks display in person. By the way, do you have any tips for the new year's eve? Where are the best vantage points? When is the best time to arrive there? Every detail would be helpful.
Ohh, and I have another thing I need to ask you. Some girls have suggested me to organize a little get together while I'm there, so if you would be intereted in meeting me (and other bloggers), please tell me. I'll be in London from the 27th of December until the 3rd of January (the 27th and the 3rd being my travel days). If you are thinking about coming, it would be best to tell me what the most suitable meetup date for you would be. You can either tell me this in the comment below and leave me your e-mail or by sending me an e-mail to sandra.thepuzzleofmylife@gmail.com. I really hope I can finally meet some of you! :)

DeleteZmenjeno! Bom ostala gor, ni panike :P
DeleteMy London new years eve tip is to make sure you're very early where ever you decide to spend the evening because there won't just be new years goers using transport there will be sale shoppers as well. Also make sure you know your travel plans for after the fire works, again very very busy.
ReplyDeleteAs for location try Londons southbank, the river looks lovely in the dark anyway but it adds to the atmosphere of fireworks as well. Try for a good view opposite the Eye.
blagoooooooooooooooooooor, jst bi tud mal dozice prekrasnega Londončka <3 mi manjks vedno bolj :D
ReplyDeleteI live in London is so beautiful this time of year. There are jazz and comedy clubs, vintage markets, luxury exhibitions and quirky cafes! I hope you enjoy it. Ooo, a meetup sounds good! I'll drop you an email!

I'd love to, but I'm not planning a trip there anytime soon. Maybe you should come to Slovenia. :)
DeleteI would love to! I know that it's a beautiful country :)
DeleteThere's a great Moroccan restaurant/ bar in seven dials! And lovely places and bars along the south bank too .
ReplyDeleteI bet you will have such an awesome time! I wouldcome if I lived in the uk :-)
ReplyDeletePs - sorry if this posted twice!
Oooh, you're coming to my hometown! I'd recommend going to Liberty, it's one of my favourite department stores in the world, and it's so gorgeous at this time of year! Carnaby Street is lovely and not as busy as Oxford Street, and is a nice place to visit.
ReplyDeleteIf you've not been to the newest Westfield at Stratford in East London, I'd recommend going there, too, it's a huge shopping centre with a lot of gorgeous shops!
I'd be interested in a meet up for sure, my email's so-divine@mail.com and I can pretty much fit in a meet up at any time lovely xx
Thank you so much for all the sugesstions. I'll definitely check out ALL of these places. And I really hope I can finally meet you in person. :D
DeleteIn terms of New Years Eve your best bet is to arrive early and prepare for a long journey home depending on where in London you're staying. The South Bank is a great vantage point for fireworks, as in Embankment and both will be exceptionally busy! Wrap up warmly and wear comfortable shoes - you'll be thankful for them later!

ReplyDeleteYay my home city!
ReplyDeleteI've lived in London all my life and it really is a wonderful city - I'd love for you to arrange a meetup! Westfield in Stratford City has so many wonderful shops and places to eat, would recommend having the meetup there :)xx

Yeah, that would be great! I just need to pick a date now. :)
DeleteI would have loved to come along for a meet up but I'll definitely be in Manchester visiting family and friends for all the time you are in the UK :(
ReplyDeleteIf you were thinking of places to visit Hampton Court Palace and Kew gardens are two of my favourite places ever and quite easy to reach by train from London - though you don't have the most time so it really depends what you're wanting to do! Borough market is just along from round the southbank and has some great stalls, definitely worth a visit if you are in the area :) xo
