The Week When I Felt Like It Was Summer

This past week hasn't been too eventful. I've been spending a lot of time either behind the stove, in my bedroom doing youtube and blog stuff or in front of our house, chilling in a deckchair and soaking up the sun. We've had a few extremely sunny and warm days, so it would be a shame not to take advantage of them. I can't believe that I was able to sit outside in short sleeves and flip flops in the middle of March! And that's coming from a person who's normally always cold. My sister said I went mental, but I myself would like to believe that I'm just getting used to colder weather and turning into an English person way before I actually move there. What?! A girl can always dream... :D

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK

Wearing flip flops. Call me lame, but I just love those suckers! You know, sometimes it's really hard to have wide feet, and flip flops are life savers, because they never give me blisters. These are the ones I always wear. My sister destroyed them when we were on holiday once and I actually cried. But luckily, I found new ones on ebay as soon as I came home, so all is good now, haha. :D

WEB FIND OF THE WEEK

Rebecca-Louise's post about beauty blogger problems. It's just spot on and I couldn't agree with it more. If you're interested in what kind of hilarious problems us bloggers have to 'deal with', check out the post here.

SONG OF THE WEEK

BEAUTY TIP OF THE WEEK

Different uses of primer + the best type of foundation for dry skin. We are used to putting primers on our face before we apply our foundation to prolongue the wear of foundation, but they also have another function. If we mix them with cream foundation, they act as 'thinners', as we can thin the foundation down and make it look less heavy/more natural.

By the way, cream foundations are THE BEST for dry skin, because they don't contain water like some liquid foundations. The problem with us dry skin havers (did I just create a new word?) and water based liquid foundations is that the water in a liquid foundation evaporates throughout the day, and the only thing we are left with on our face is pigment, which of course always sticks to dry patches. Cream foundations, on the other hand, are oil or silicon based and don't act the same. I'm not saying that they are miraculous and don't enhance dry patches at all, but they certainly don't change the way they look on your skin throughout the day. And also, a little goes a long way. Cream foundations are very pigmented and offer a great deal of coverage, so you only need a tiny bit of it to cover your face and like I mentioned, using a primer with it will make it sheerer and look more like your own skin.

Oh, and another primer trick! It also works great at smoothing down dry patches if you apply it on your dry areas right before you apply cream foundation. Voila! Who found today's beauty tip of the week useful? Are you familiar with cream foundations?
