The Week When I Immersed Myself in Music

Let's just start with the obvious. This post has a ridiculous title. I just couldn't come up with anything more suitable, so excusez-moi (I obviously think I'm still in France). Anyway, this week seemed to be all about music. First of all, I finally got a set of proper headphones and I can't keep them off of my head! I've been wanting to get some headphones for quite a while now, as my earbud headphones don't always cancel out all the noise I would want them too. I find this extremely annoying especially when I travel by plane, so I knew I would have to get something for my trip to Bali if I want to listen to music, watch movies and edit videos without the annoying plane sounds in the background. I've recently come across the Frends' headphones and they caught my attention right away. They are so beautiful! I first wanted to go for the white/rose gold combination, but then my dad convinced me they would get dirty right away, so I ended up picking the black/gold version. Most of the accessories I wear are gold anyways and I also have black glasses, so I guess they are the best fit for me after all. By the way, you can get them here

Moving on to the next musical topic - Eurovision. I had a blast watching it yesterday and found even more enjoyment in tweeting my reactions and reading other people's opinions. I felt like I was a part of a humongous twitter party full of sarcastic people, haha. It was fun! My top 5 were Norway, Sweden, Finland, Austria and, of course, Slovenia. I honestly thought our song was pretty catchy and perfect for Eurovision, but we ended up second to last. Nothing new. At least we made it to the finals this year! The competition is extremely predictable and political every single year, so I don't know why we're even trying to be honest. It's not like we're ever going to win. And the whole thing doesn't even seem to help promote our country, since 99% of people still don't know where Slovenia is. All that money could be spent on way more important things if you ask me. Putting Slovenia aside, the winner of this year's contest became Conchita Wurst, the 'bearded lady' who represented Austria. Her beard is still giving me the freak show vibes, but the social outcast in me is really happy that she won and 'showed the middle finger' to all discriminatory people. And besides, her/his voice is amazing and I like the song too. Very James Bond-ish. Were you watching Eurovision as well? Who were your faves?

  1. Glad to hear you liked Finland's entry, I did like it a lot, too :) I'm glad it made it to the 11th place, in Eurovision, that's high for Finland. :P (We used to think we can never win, either, until Lordi won the Eurovision in 2006 for the first time in Finland's history.)
I liked Austria's song and performance a lot, I think it was a deserving winner. I also liked Belarus, even though it was tacky, it was damn catchy! :D

Slovenia wasn't bad either :) But like you said, it is political... I couldn't help but hear the boooooing for Russia. Apparently, because of the Ukraine situation.

    1. I loved Finland's song AND the main singer, haha. Oh, yeah, the booing was pretty bad. Those poor 17 year old girls have nothing to do with the situation...
