Val Thorens Vlog

I'm baaack! It feels like ages since I last blogged or had a proper internet connection. For those of you that don't know, I was on spring break last week, which is why I was a bit MIA recently. My family and I went to Val Thorens, France, Europe's highest and world's best ski resort of 2013. We've been going there every year, literally since I was born, so I almost consider it my third home. London is the second one in case you're wondering. Does anyone else rank places like that or is it just me being weird again? Anyway, this year was quite interesting. Maybe not in the best way, but oh well.
The weather was not particularly fabulous for the majority of time. We had fog and tons of snow! This resulted in me being indoors rather then on the ski slopes for the most part, but I hadn't even known if I would be able to ski this year due to my knee injury, so I can't say I was terribly disappointed with the outome. I realized I can ski almost perfectly fine with my defective knee, but I only went out when the weather was completely clear, because I didn't want to risk falling due to the fog or snow bumps, and injure myself even more. You know what they say, better be safe than sorry.
My mom, on the other hand, managed to do just that. She fell when she was putting her skis on in the middle of the hill and hurt herself so badly that she still can't walk normally. At least now I know where I get my clumsiness from.
Oh, and one more 'amazing' thing happened a day before we left. Someone stole my dad's skis! We had all of our skis in a locked ski locker in the apartment complex, and when we started packing on Friday and putting our ski equipment in the car, we realized my dad's skis were gone. They were taken from a locked ski locker that had no sign of breaking in. Long story short, I went to the reception desk and they told me we've been the fifth family from our apartment complex that reported theft that day. Just terrible. There is no way a random person could steal our stuff because you need dozens of codes, keys and room cards to even make your way to the locker room, so they're assuming the seasonal staff who left the resort that day had something to do with everything. Unbelievable. We did report the theft to police and informed our insurance company, so we're now waiting for things to get resolved. If they ever will get resolved. You know how insurance companies work. I'll definitely update you about the situation on twitter!
Now that I've turned this post into a complete rant, I should tell you that I put up a video about my trip on my youtube channel today, which was the whole point of me even writing this post. You can watch it here or down below. I promise it's not depressing as this post turned out to be, haha. I guess I just needed to vent somewhere... :D
