I’ve always been oohing and ahhing over Nars blushes whenever I saw someone talking about them, but since Nars is not sold in my country, and I could never bring myself to splurge 30€ on a single blush even when I had the opportunity to get hold of Nars products, they just stayed on my beauty wishlist for what it seemed like ages.
About a month ago, though, I came across the One Night Stand Cheek Palette and I just couldn’t pass up the offer. It seemed like the perfect product for a Nars newbie! Getting a hold of it was a bit of a hassle, because it was a part of the limited edition that was only avaliable on Sephora and SpaceNK, but I had two lovely ladies who were willing to help me out – Jessica and Marvelle. Jessica was the first one who volunteered to send me the palette, but since she lives in the States and we couldn’t figure out the shipping costs, I decided not to get it. Luckily, Marvelle, who lives in the UK, came to the rescue and offered me to use her address to buy the palette from Space NK, which she later re-sent to my address. Yay!
I had really high expectations for this palette, because it contains some of the most popular Nars products (Laguna, Orgasm & Deep Throat) which everybody seem to love, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. As you can see, the palette contains one highlighter, one bronzer and four different blush shades. From left to right, you can see: Devotee, Mistinguette, Orgasm, Laguna, Deep Throat and Goulue. I haven’t tried all of them yet, but the ones that I did, quickly made their way into my daily make-up routine.
First of all, I’ve been using the Devotee highlighter, which looks really pretty, especially on camera! I do find it quite glittery, though, so it might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I love it. The next product I’ve been loving is Laguna bronzer. I actually expected it to be a lot more pigmented that it actually is, because the supposed elf dupe I own is a lot stronger in terms of pigmentation. Having said that, I don’t consider this a negative thing. I love how you can warm up your face with it without a serious amount of blending. I just wouldn’t use it for proper, hard-core contouring. And now lastly, my blush of choice has definitely been Goulue. The shade is just perfect for this time of the year and goes really well with my recent ‘bold look’ experiments. I don’t really know what else to say about the products other than they’re great! The shades are beautiful, they don’t go on patchy, they can be built up very nicely and last on me all day long. All in all, I’m really happy that I splurged on this palette, as I think it was a great investment. And also a great saving if I think of it in that way, because I got six products for the price of two!
P.S. I might have a few possible dupes for three or even four products in this palette, so I was thinking about doing some comparison posts. Would you maybe be interested in seeing that?
