Putting on eye primer on my eyelids before applying eyeshadow is a step I never skip in my makeup routine. It makes a huge difference in how your eyeshadows look and how long they last. My personal favourite is Urban Decay’s Primer Potion, but today I’ll be talking about Makeup Revolution’s ‘Stay Don’t Stray’. Sounds familiar? Benefit’s primer actually has the exact same name. Coincidence? I think not. Makeup Revolution is known for coming out with dupes after all. Now, I’ve never tried the Benefit version, so I can’t make any comparisons, but I’ve tried quite a few other drugstore and high end primers so far, which helped me evaluate this one.
Makeup Revolution’s ‘Stay Don’t Stray’ comes in a rather big sized squeezable plastic tube, but I have to warn you that the tube is not full of product. I’ve noticed there’s a lot of air inside, so don’t get fooled. As far as its performance goes, it’s pretty decent. It’s great at making eyeshadows look more pigmented and vibrant, but it isn’t the best when it comes to helping your eyeshadows last longer, as I find my eye makeup looks fade throughout the day anyway whenever I’m using this product.
I’m pretty sure some of you who have to deal with oily eyelids will also be interested in whether or not it prevents creasing, but unfortunatelly, I can’t comment on that, as eyeshadow never creases on me. Sorry! I don’t think there’s anything else that can be said about an eye primer, so I’ll leave this review as it is and to finish things off, ask you what your favourite eye primer is? I would love to know!
